General blog improvements

* blogs top bar providing multiple functionalities like search the blog at which the visitor is looking at, search in all the blogs, direct link for the visitors to create their own blog on the blog portal, link for going to the home page of the current blog, link for contacting the author of the current blog, direct link for notifying the administrator for objectionable content
* improvements of the blog layout, comments and trackbacks links near the note title – based on the users feedback we have made improvements of the blogs layout – we added the comments, trackbacks and rate the post links near the post title and also icons for getting back to the home page of the blog, contact the author and others.

Blog admin space

* a lot of new professionally designed templates for the bloggers, improvements of the old ones
* new functionality for managing the blog design – we redesigned our blog layout management page and added new features and made it as user friendly as possible
* WYSIWYG templates editor – the WYSIWYG bloggers templates editor allows the users not only to choose a template from these offered standard but also freely customize it using an advanced WYSIWYG editor
* trackbacks – the tracbacks provide a powerful way to notify other blogs or websites to which the post on the blog portal is referring to. In order to make easier the use of trackbacks, the trackback url is directly visible on the post page and the tracbacks are listed near the comments for the post; also the bloggers admin space includes an user friendly functionality for sending pings to other blogs
* improved pictures management – the new blog system makes easier to manage the pictures stored in the blogger photo albums, there is a special page in the admin space providing quick overview of all the images stored; improvements are made also in the thumbnails generation allowing to better keep the aspect ration of the thumbnails, preserve the transparency of the gifs in the generated thumbnails and others.

Front site and back end

* improved multi language support, the encodings are set automatically, more language translations added
* admin notification for objectionable content – the visitors of a blog have already an easy way to notify the administrator for objectionable content – they could just click on the Flag button in the top bar. These alerts sent by the users help to keep the blog portal clean from unallowed content.
* blogs bandwidth and space management improvement – the new version offers better control over the bandwidth consumed by the blogs, possibility to disable a blog if it goes over its quota etc. (the blog remains active if the blogger has gone over his space quota but he is not allowed to make any new post, upload files or images)
* others like replace words – the administrator can define replace words and replace automatically these words if a blogger users them in a post or username stop words – possibility to define reserved words which the users can’t use when registering a new blog
